When I'm driving over 65, the front end will shake a little, What do you think is going on? Is there a common problem in the front end w/ the 528?

I have a 98' 528i and I have never had any problems. Plus, my mom used to have a 98' 528i and she put 180k miles on it and never had that problem either. Take it to a tire shop, they should be able to tell whats going on. Good luck and Welcome to the Forums!

One more time:

1. Without actually seeing the car it is all guess work…so please check with your dealer/independent mechanic and other forums....my car had developed a vibration problem at 102.000 miles---BMWs don’t carry antidotes for front end vibrations---due to a bent rim on the interior side while looking so innocent on the outside.
2. It can be a vibration caused by a fallen lead piece used to balance the rim—high speed wheel balance.
3. Then we suggested checking the front end components; following a process of elimination.
4. Needless to say the unknown history of a used car is a mystery i.e. prior accidents/hitting curbs etc. In addition to the fact our big fat tires do compound such problem.

In sum: If one BMW with 180.000 miles hasn’t exhibited similar vibration problem, it does not mean your car is automatically immune to it. I would check the tires/wheel balance; when and if NOT in doubt; the front end including brake pads/rotors will be next on my list—more vibration when applying brakes--- Good luck

Lets keep it simple for a change, you probibly just threw a weight, no big deal. If you dont hear anything or feel any clunking. Just have them re-balanced.
