I need to change the starter in my '98 M3 w/3.2 engine. After finding it, I hoped I would find an access panel in the firewall but that doesn't appear to be the case. So my next question is: do I need to access it from above or below. Either way looks incredibly labor intensive and even the starter bolts appear quite impossible to reach short of sliding the engine/tranny forward. Any tricks would be greatly appreciated also.
