Intended to mark the 30th anniversary of the BMW M3’s arrival in the USA, the 30 Years American Edition had some unique exterior mods and a particularly patriotic interior. Now it’s for sale, but with some polarizing modifications, it may have a bit of a hard time finding a buyer.
We’ll start with the exterior. BMW applied a ton of M Performance parts to the extra-American F80 M3, giving it a carbon front splitter, rear diffuser, mirror caps and side skirts. There’s also a sizable carbon fiber rear wing, Frozen Red Metallic paint, an M Performance exhaust with carbon fiber tips and the 10-spoke wheels from the BMW M4 CS finished in pale gold.
