What is the largest diameter and width wheels you would put on an e36 4 door 325i? I want something with a PHHHAT lip and something under 1700 wheels and tires! preferably 19 if it can fit...thanks!
yea the more i think about it, I think I might go with the 18 inch...Can I go any wider than 8.5? Someone told me I could go all the way to x10 before but he may have been full of it. I'm sure the wider you go, the more expensive it is too...Anyway thanks alot for the help and I will let you guys know whether or not I get this 325i I have been looking at!

he's talking E36, and e30_325_s52 your talking about e46....true on the e46 i can fit 19x10 in the rear without any moditifications, and i can fit 19x9 in the front...BUT for a e36, on a sedan, the max i would go is 18".....19"s dont even look right on non-m e46s.....but the e46 m3 has a larger wheel well....so 20"s can fit

yes my friend has a white e36 m3 and he bought those 18x10's and he said that he was goin to put them on it.but he didnt becuase he didnt lik the rim..he said it didnt match the car.
19"s are fine.. no real rubbing problems here.. i run 19x8.5"s all around with 235/35/19s all around. Im pretty low too.. rears are tucked and a small gap in the front. The rear passenger side will scrape the inside well if theres a few people in the car if anything.
Take it from me....go with an 18x8.5 ...NO WIDER......I have on my car right now 18x9.5 in the rear and 18x8.5 in front and the rears rub like a mother fucker....So bad that I rolled the fenders and they still rub...to just drive the car Ive had to install some ghetto helper block in the rear so they dont rub until I can get a chance to do some body werk which completely negates the look of my eibach lowering springs........Stay with 17's....youll be much happier BELIEVE me.....Looks HOT ....but its not practical for hard Driving

I just bought some 17" tires and need to buy the rims. I decided on 17" because i think 18's are just too rough of a ride. I have always heard that you get the best performance out of 17s too. I know tire size you can fit 235 up front and 245 in back without modifications, so if you look at wheels that fit those tires that may help too.
Anything above 17 inches on a E36 and your car will be so dwarfed...I've seen lots of E36 with 18s and 19s in New York City and from a far the size of the rims and tires really dwarfs the car and totally detracts from the car's unique style....
If you do it lower your car and do not chrome out the rims!
?????Will 18's look weird if my car is not lowered??????? I am waiting for my BBS's in the mail, but I will not have the money to lower my car for about 3.5 months. Am I going to be riding around in a freak show for 4 months???? or will it not be that bad????
Also, when I do lower my car, I am going to get the springs and shocks Package form turner (H&R spings and Bilstein sport shocks FOR 729.99 + shipping). Is there anyway I can lower my car without getiing both springs and shocks at the same time, or is it 100% NECCESARY!!! If I could buy one at a time then I would have the money in like a month or less.
I would appreciate anyones advice. I NEED HELP!!!!!!!!!!
