Has anyone had any experience with Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta Tires?
Apparently they are big in Europe, and have had decent reviews in the US, but i've never heard of them here in Australia.

I have the 275/30ZR20's in back and 255/30ZR20's in the front on my supercharged M3. The prior owner raves about them but I have, while liking the tires a lot generally had a few instances where they stepped out on me a bit. To their credit, they never lost it and always came back quickly. Nice price and great tires!

So do you think that the Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta Tires or Toyo Proxes T1R are too soft for use with a vehicle as heavy as the 740iL? I don't want to get something that isn't give me some reasonable mileage, without being too noisey?

Am I dreaming or what?

Are the Vredsteins even available in sizes for the 7 series? I know my M3 seemed to be towards the big end of the inventory - check this. Are the Toyos? I know Sumitomo is good for a performance 7 but they are expensive and have popped pretty easily too. Teh Prof has them - I'd aak him. Seems to me the Vredstein Sessantra's are a dream sadly.

There don't seem to be a great diversity of sizes in this series, but there are some decent sized tires in the range.

I've been looking to replace my rears and have had some trouble with availability. I've looked at several alternatives that have not come in my size either. Any suggestions for alternatives for a street and track tire that's nice and sticky for all seasons with some decent durability?

275 30 ZR 20 is the size I am looking for. Several local web sites don't carry them or say they are unavailable. I'm trying to speak with the first owner (whom I am now friends with and on phone now with) about ideas as ge did a lot of research and he knows the M3 better than anyone.

Just looking at the Discount Tire Direct site they have the following brands in that specific size (275/30-20). You might have to research each tire from the discount tire direct site list, because the Falken site shows the FK452 as ZR, but DTD list as a Z.

Yokohama S.drive
Hankook Ventus V12 Evo K110
Nitto NT 555 Extreme Performance
Falken FK 452
Falken FK 452 passenger tyres - Flagship tyre - New silica compound for excellent wet performance
Dunlop SP Sport Maxx TT
Nitto Invo
Yokohama ADVAN Sport
Dunlop SP Sport 01 DSST Run Flat

In addition I found these two which were both ZR rated.
Toyo Proxes T1R
PROXES T1R | Toyo Tires

Vreddestein Ultrac Sessanta (like yeah I already knew that one);)
Vredestein

Surely there is something amongst that lot is suitable. Not that I could recommend anyone of them to you, some of these I've never even heard of the manufacturers before.

Good luck and let us know what you end up going with? Get the Professor onto this thread as well, beacuse I'd appreciate his input.

So looking around for some used 18" rims. Found a couple of options and just wanted some objective opinion from the werkz family

Personally I like the second option out of the three, they aren't genuine, but they are a German made replica, 18x8 & 18x9.5, and they do have a nice deep concave face. The third is a genuine BMW E39 rim 18x8 & 18x9.
The first ones are going to be easier to keep clean, but they will be exposed to more gutter contact.

Feel free to pass judgement and comment.

I love these tires! I have a set on my 98 540i/6 and they are quiet with great wet and dry traction. In comparing these tires with the Goodyear and Toyos I've had these are by far the best tires I've owned.

Does anyone have an opinion on any of these wheels that I am thinking of buying?

I have style 32, the ones in your last picture, personally I don't go much on the first 2 styles, ///M parallels do look good on a 7 series also.

See - with me that's three for #3!

Also looks like I found a hookup for new Vredsteins on my M3 - the prior owner, now a friend, has a great neighbor who owns a shop. His father has them on his 535i and his brother on his E55 AMG Benz. Great quality and value too! Nice find Brettski!

Thanks for the feedback on the wheels guys, as RM said 3 from 3 for number 3. I guess it will come down to how much the 32s go for on eBay.

So far the only supplier of these the Vredsteins tires in Australia carry the Agricultural products, but I'll see if I can work on them to bring in a set with their next shipment.

Well the 32s went for crazy money, and I think I might sit tight on doing anything until I get closer to actually needing some new rubber. In the mean time I'll keep an eye on EBay and see what comes up. Most of the genuine 18" wheels are for the X3, X5 or 3 series. At this time it also appears that Vredestein car tires aren't represented here in Australia at all. Maybe I'll have to look at something like the Toyo Proxes T1R in 285/40ZR18 (Rear) & 255/45ZR18 (Front).
I am pretty sure that Marti5 is running a similar tire on his 735i, so hopefully it will be good to go. Anyone else had experience of the T1R rubber?

Well that stinks after all your efforts. I know I had several misses and unavailable sources before finding a good price for now on a Southern California store's web site. The shipping is a little pricey but hey, tires are big and I need them shipped across the U.S. I am giving my local connection a chance to match or beat the price. Also getting a lot of wifey flak over getting 4 new tires instead of 2 -(sidewall has a deep cut on one of the fronts that has me uneasy.

Anyway - good luck with Toyos for now Brettski and keep an eye out for Vredsteins (maybe drop them an email?? They might love the business opportunity in a new market and might just reward you...). As the company grows, I can't imagine why they'd not do some business down under! Letvua know how you like the new Toyos whn you get them. Good luck - :)
