for those of you who have tinted windows (especially the rear window), do you have any problems with the tints on the dots matrix? mine is starting to bubble on the top of the rear window where the dots are. i've got it scheduled to go back next weekend to get that fix or replace the tint.

just wondering if any of you had any problems with the tint around the dot matrix.

umm i dont know if its a problem here, but i do have small tiny air bubbles or dots or whatever they are in and around the dot matrix part. i was told it is almost impossible for it to get a perfect clean job up around there so i dont call this a problem.
yea, i've been told that before, but mine looks like shit!

i'm not expecting an absolute perfect clean job, ( what am i saying?), but it's gots to be better than the way it looks now. i will know next weekend.

how much do tints cost?
It's a common problem with tint and the matrix areas on back windows. They'll re-do it but won't guarantee that it won't still be present.

yea, they are re-doing the tint for me. if it is still present, then i would have to live with it, but its gots to be better than the way it is now. this morning, i got in the back seat to take a closer look at it and i went to see if i could rub the bubbles out, the tint was actually coming off. :banghead :banghead

donut, i paid $249 for my tints.
whoa there! ive done two tint jobs...one i had to get rid of cuz the cop warned me to...anyways..i paid only $140 for both sets, at two diff places.

$249 for tints! wow thats alot
i've seen poor tint jobs have a lot of haze and condensation on the bottom few inches around the window, maybe it's not sealed properly if you're having problems.
I work at a stereo shop and our main thing we do besides stereo is window tinting...the dot matrix problem is very common, on most cars at the top of the window we will not tint over the dot matrix where its like 6 inches or more tall, reason being it is practically impossible for the tint to stick to all those small dot matrix bubbles...When there is a small amount around the edge of the window its really never a problem, and if someone isn't happy with the space not tinted where the dot matrix is, we can put a black vinyl strip on top of it...Now I have seen someone do something and it helped the tint stick...One of our tint guys best friends used some fine sandpaper and soapy water on the rear window of his z06 vette on the dot matrix and it helped...Man $249 for a 4 door car tint!?!?!?! Where do we need to move?!?!? I guess the cost of living can depend on what people charge for tint...down here in alabama we have one of the best tint guys in the southeast with minimal or no "trash" in his windows...for a 4 door car we charge $165 for black/smoke tint, and $185 for platinum tint...we use the best there is, LLUMAR. We also do alot of flame type jobs in the tint...anyway good luck on getting it fixed, maybe this time it will stick!
