Thanks for everyone's help.
I just finished changing my tie rods.
It actually wasn't that bad.

Took it out for a quick test drive. It really needs an alignment. The steering wheel doesn't want to come back to centre after making a turn. I'm getting that taken care of tomorrow.

Congrats! Got mine in the mail last week, along with new control arms. Planning on the project next weekend.

Did you change the whole tierod, or just the ends? Did you need anything special to remove the tierod from the rack? The Bentley manual shows a special tool needed, although it looks as if one could be easily made with an open-end wrench and a bench grinder.

Furious, I haven't put the snows on yet...it's been so warm lately. But I know that can change VERY soon.
Mmendall, I changed the whole tie rod aasy. A ball joint separator worked great for me on the outer end. As for the inner end, save yourself some time and money, go to a bike shop and get a 32mm wrench. They have those thin tools that work great.
