My 89' 325i is idling rough, and when I approach stops that car dies. The RPMs bounce between 500-2000, and I have to really gas it to get it going from first. Any ideas???

could be a vacuum leak, the ICV couldve gone bad, the fuel or air filter may be dirty or colgged, or it could still be something else. if it is the idle control valve (ICV) a temporary fix may be to thoroughly clean it out

The fuel/air filter are new, I'll try cleaning ICV and checking for vac leaks. Thanks for your help!
