:help hello im new to the forum ive had bm's for 8 years now no prob until now i have a e39 2001 with the becker business rds radio cassette with no sound coming out is the amp fitted into the head unit or is it separate somewhere else?? can these units be repaired or is it cheaper to fit an aftermarket one ??bmw dealer wanted £420 for factory recon unit and breakers want upto £200 for one from a scrapper any help please

After market units are good. Alpine, Kenwood, Pioneer fit well. Get a used amp from ebay or somewhere else. The amps have wonderful crossovers to balance the speaker system. Unless you want "the works" and rewire your work of art with a more powerful after market amp and subwoofers.

yeah ive already looked at aftermarket units and i can get one to still work with the multi func steering wheel but nothing to work with the cd multichanger but would like to keep the original unit if poss .does anyone know the location of the stereo amp in a bmw e39 with a becker business rds stereo is it separate or is it built into the head unit???????????? ,dont want to tear car apart looking for something that isnt there

Get a Bently's Manual for your car. It will be the best investment in your life. realoem.com can help you with your amplifier. Look in the trunk on the driver's side under the carpet panels on the wall of the trunk (not the floor). Your amp should be there. But check that site, just to make sure. Best of luck.
