As i have an E36 3 series i think this is the right place to post this if not then sorry

I would like to know how to take out the back speakers on my 95 318i saloon as they sound terrible. Also where are the front located as i can only see tweeters on the door pannel.

The mid drivers are in the kick panel by your feet. If you look in the foot well you will see a vented area. That's where the mid driver is located.

To remove the back speakers you are going to have to physically remove the cover for the back deck itself.

Are you planning on adding a complete system with amps, or are you just going to drop in some upgraded speakers and run them off of the factory amp/wiring?

I am thinking about putting a set of 6x9's in there and running them from an amp. Also what size are the front speakers if you possibly know.

I believe they are 5 1/4" mid drivers, 3" tweeter, and a 1" dome tweeter. I'm not 100% sure at the moment. I'll look it up a little later. Right now I have to make a trip to the dentist...

Here's some quick info right away about speaker sizes that fit your car...

Factory replacement info:

In-dash stereo
7-1/16" depth; Size code E,S,U

Front speakers
Kick Panel: 5-1/4"

Rear speakers
Rear Deck: 4"

6x9's will not fit on the back deck without modification to the metalwork underneath the trim panel itself. Because of this, I do not recommend doing it. I also personally am not a huge fan of 6x9's in general because I do not like the quality of sound they produce. I almost feel your best bet would be to buy a really good set of front speakers (because the front sound stage is the most important when it comes to properly imaging sound) because the rear fill is not as important as you would think.

I think you'd be much better off getting a 10" sub for some bass (because I believe that's why you want the 6x9's) and removing the speakers empty in the back deck and leaving the holes empty. That way the bass from the sub in the trunk can come through to the inside of the car. Just a thought.

there is an adapter you can get for the rear speakers to change from the 4" to 6x9s. i found mine on eBay, the speakers just sit down a bit into the trunk

I already have a basstube in the trunk i wanted the 6x9's for the better sound as i have a really good headunit. I am having trouble getting the cover off also the surrounding of the speakers inside the trunk... What is the best way to do this or can anyone give me a few pics to show how to remove them.

pretty sure the plastic covers just pop off with a screwdriver, then it's 4 screws that hold them in

Just did this a few weeks ago. The grills just pop off. Unhook the audio connector. Then there are two screws that hold the speaker enclosures in place. When those are out, there is a silver clip that has to be pushed down away from the package tray sheet metal. Then you slide the enclosure towards the centre of the trunk. Open the trunk and you speaker enclosures are just sitting there. (You need to do this to replace the rear shocks as well)
I put 4" speakers in place. The originals were something like 4 1/2" not an available size. 5 1/4" wouldn't fit without surgery. What ever speaker you get will be better than what ever the originals were.
