Maybe it's because I'm a little older than most of the people on the board, at least I feel like I'm older, but I don't find the point/fun in talking about driving way faster than you should on public roads. If you went 135 at the track, post it up hopefully with pics :rock If you did some donuts in a deserted parking lot out in the middle of nowhere put up the link to the video :D But putting yourself and other at risk by driving excessivly fast on public roads isn't cool. I'm not saying don't post about taking down some rice burner on the street, cause we all do it. Just keep that sort of post simple/short like: I somked some punk in a Civic who though he was fast, I showed him otherwise :rock....that is all. Don't post like, I cut across 3 lanes causing an accident so I could put the smack down on a stock mini van, once I got up to 130 I did an ABS stop cause I felt like it.

If you feel like driving fast on open roads, go for it I'm not telling you not to, I just don't want to hear about it in here cause it encourages other people to as fast or faster then post about it.

as long as your not posting about things that are EXTREMELY wreckless, i dont see why this has become a rule.. part of owning a bmw is pushing the limits of your car..

maybe we should have a disclaimer or some shit.. lol

"Some of the stories posted on this board involve extreme speed and wrecklessness and we do not condone or approve of them."

:dunno

Like I said I don't care about hearing abou the kill you had, just don't go into all the details about it.
:wtf Details are what make the story good. If I had just posted that I got a reckless driving ticket and took it to court and got out of it, the story would not have been nearly as interesting as going into details about how the cop reacted, what happened, talked about the video, etc... Pretty much everyone elses stories also revolve around details, we are nothing without the juicy details.

Now I am not trying to take over your job here or be rude or anything, but why should it matter to us if YOU don't like hearing about somebody driving fast on open roads or cutting through traffic? If everybody else likes and enjoys it, why should one person who does not like it (you) ruin it for everyone else? :confused

Half the posts on this forum are like that, and without them, this forum would not be nearly as fun as it is. I have been a member of this site for a long time and I never really bothered to check out any other section except for E36 cause thats my car, but one day I decided to check this other stuff out and all these crazy stories are whats keeping me here. Over the past few weeks, I have spent more time in this forum than the E36. If you take away the freedom to post whatever, I am sure that other people will also stop coming by here and move elsewhere.

See...there are details again. If I had just said "I don't like your rule, its stupid" all rather than going into explanations and arguements, I would not have been able to get my point across Details are key, anywhere you are.

AJ- Sorry if I came off as rude or arrogant, but you gotta understand where all of us are coming from, I am 100% positive that there are many others who share my opinion. If you don't like what I said or don't agree, PM me and we can duke it out there. Or maybe we can start a flame war here...

Fuck it. Since most of you want to talk about driving like a dumb ass on the streets knock yourselfs out and post away. I was just trying to clean up the forum a little so it doesn't sound like we all drive reckless and fast on public roads which would turn some prospective users away. Sorry for trying to make the forums a better place than some of the ricer boards out there.

i think this is one retarded thread. who wants to read my post that says

'i went fast today but i cant tell the speed' ? !!?!?!!?!!!111one!111!!!eleven
I agree. The fact that that rule was even proposed by a mod is beyond me. It would ruin this thread. :)

I did a $1.30 on the highway in rush hour!!.... :rock

Just kidding... :D

Not trying to step on toes here but...

You really can't save the world or stop other's from being inspired by putting a strong limit on what should be said in this branch of BMW-Forums. People will do what they want, reguardless of what you or anyone else thinks. Besides, you would have to convince the other's of your level to do the same in ALL BRANCHES. Hence making an "effort" to stop the insaine speeding, so no vids, no stories, no whatever.

I also don't like those that do 100+mph on the highway, I can remeber many times that I've been blown aside as some asswipe flew past me in thier "rocket" but wait, I really can't post about that whole speed thing.....my bad.

Dough :cheers
