I've had my bimmer about 3wks now and have noticed it is a little slugish below 3500 revs. This car is supposed to be 189 bhp so i expected a little more low down grunt. Is this normal or could there be something bad going on ie Cat probs etc Any suggestions greatly recieved. :cheers

I seem to be having the same problem and noticed that my consumption has increased as well. Spoke to a mechanic today and said that it could be that I need to change my TDC sensor and camshaft sensor. This he said will cure the car of the sluggishness as well as ensure that the right info is being relayed to the ECU. Dunno if anyone else out there has done something similar.

i just got both the sensors changed, it does seem to make a diff to the power delivery, a lot smoother, almost like new. will let u know if it helps the consumption. i was experiencing the same thing, the gas seems to drain real fast when i m stuck in jams about town.

Me again !! An idea i had, to improve the air intake, was to drill a hole in the filter side of the air box. Attatch a hoover hose to this hole and run it along to the grill. To my way of thinking this should pull in more denser cold air. As you still retain your orig air box warm air is kept away to a degree. And it only costs a few Qiud sorry Bucks ! Should improve the power a little.
