BMW has announced new engine options and a few updates for both the 2017 3 Series and 4 Series.

Both cars are adopting the same new four-cylinder engine in the 430i and 330i, a 2.0-liter turbo that makes 248 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque, a small increase over the previous 428i and 328i.

The 340i with a revised turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine was introduced last year and now the 4 Series is getting the same treatment for 2017, with the 440i replacing the 435i. The 3.0-liter turbo unit makes 320 hp and 332 lb-ft of torque, an increase of 20 hp over the previous model.

While the overall look of both cars hasn’t changed, new styling packages are now available. For the 3 Series, a new matte chrome trim package is available on the 330i/e and 328d models, while the M Sport package can now be had with the 340i, adding M Sport suspension, an M Sport steering wheel, a revised aerodynamic package, Shadowline trim and an increased top speed.
