Do you think that BMW should make an M7? What advantages/disadvantages would there be? I feel that they need something to compare to the S55. The next M5 is great but still it's more of a competitior to the E55 than the S55. I think it would be too much power!
What do you guys think?

If they did, then it would have to be a 6spd manual, sharing the M6 engine, which is/will be the new M5 engine. Personally if I were to design the M7, i'd give it a that same 760 V12 and supercharge that, to alittle over 620hp. The S55 is just crap in my opinion, I detest how Mercedes carry on with their new models.

If BMW did make an M7, then it would probably dominate the S55. It wouldn't be a bad idea, cetainly a better idea than making this mini-van thing they are talking about doing. It would be too expencive and most probably not very profitable for them as a company (the M7).

BMW is planning on making a minivan?!? Pardon the excitement, but it would be great for me as I have a Toyota Sienna and I could trade it in with that!
Have you driven the S55/S600 before? That is not crap! IMHO, the 760Li is crap. BMW doesn't really care about the competition because even the E55 has more HP than a 760Li. However, If I were given a choice between a 745Li and S500, I would get the 745Li.
Do you have any information on the BMW minivan?
I'm really interested.

no minivan, they thought about then decided BMW is not about minivans.

I don't think they should have an M7, but I think the 760 should put out more power then it does, it should be at least 500.

the 760 already costs $122,000. i can't imagine they would make a more expensive boat.

I agree, the 760Li should at least give about 500HP, I was thinking that maybe they could have an M7 with 700HP, wishful thinking...
Well if MB can make an S600 that costs nearly $140K when fully loaded(not including Brabus or Lorinser equipment)/$200-250K when loaded with all the TV's, Engine Upgrades, Computer's, Best Rims, Premium Leather and Paint, Bullet-Proof protection, etc. At that price I would rather buy a Maybach.
But I'm sure that BMW can make a 765Li or M7 and make it a good $140K, there are people who would buy it.
That sucks about the Minivan, though. Some of the folks over at SiennaClub would love it. I know this dude with an M5 who desperately wants BMW to make a Minivan or X7.
Who knows...maybe BMW might finally bring out an SUV that can fit 7 or 8?

I think an M7 would be OK but would doubt BMW will do it. They have just re-tooled many ot their production lines. will prob. wait to get some return on that investment. I read a little about the Maybach. 359,000 dollars and 22 ft long. Is that right? I'm getting off the subject.

And when BMW make the M7, why not make an MX5 to blow the ML55 away...?

The M7 just isn't nessesary, Mercedes only have an AMG for the S, just because they have an AMG for just about every model they produce, Aclass, Cclass, Eclass and so on... Every mercedes (more than half) have an AMG version. BMW dont need to go all out and make an M for each and every model just because they think it will sell, as Mercedes probably think. At least BMW has the decensy to put different engines in each M model, but the AMG make the same 5.5 liter supercharged V8 for every single one, but the C and SLK models (and A class).
I dont think BMW need to do the M7, should they? My answer would be no. If BMW would do it for sells, it probably wouldn't do as well as the S8 (soon to come out) just because it would be over 130, 000. But both campanies set up their cars in the same sort of way: take a Bmw 3er, it starts with the 316, 318, 320, 323, 325, 328, 330, M3 and M3 CSL (if you want to count it). Mercedes have teh same type of organization: an E class, E230, 320, 420, 500 and AMG55. If you notice, BMW make more from working with one product. Mercedes, in a way, have to make up for only have 4 different (and its probvably more) base models by selling the AMG55 version for twice as much. With BMW you can probably get a 330 as expencive as a M3 coupe, but an E420 probably would never get as expencive as the AMG model. So Mercedes are almost obligated to make a version for each model, that they can just over price to make up for lost sells. BMW ont he other hand doesn't need to worry about that, they make several different variations per model.
The question here though is about the 7.. The 7 so far, only has the 745i, 745il, 760i and 760il. Why should BMW focus on the 7 that much, when they're aware that it wont make as much sells for them as a 3er or a 5er, hence the 3er and 5er have M versions. So even if BMW "should" make the M7, which they shouldn't, they wouldn't just because it wont be considered an investment. Mercedes producing the S55, in my opinion, was just to make themselves look better as a company. Since they produced the C32, E55, ML55, and SLK32, they figured they complete it with the S55, and therefore finishing it off with the CL55 and SL55. The only logical AMG55 in my opinion, is the SL55- the rest overall are just flashy machines.

But anyhoo, cant think of a possible market for an M7, as it would take away buyers from the M5... People get the 7 for its Bling BLinginess, not really for its performance. And you gotta remember how much stuff is packed inot that car, its soooo heavy. Better leave it be and not whore out the Motorsport ideal.

btw, I was cruisin home yesterday and what should pass me by but a brand new 545. I alomst orgasmed. I love that car.
