since my car is a dark color and i have a tan interior, it would be great to darken it. i was considering changing it all out untill i found out about this. these people bought vinal dye and sprayed it onto parts of their vinal in their interior. it creats a very good 2 tone interior effect. i would definately do it except that i would have to take out my dash. how exactly would i do that? does it involve removing the whole steering wheel and gauges etc?

That much black would make the interior very hot. I want two tone seats, and that gave me an idea though. I need to go take some pics now and photoshop. this is all i have now.

it wouldnt be half as hot as an all black interior, and two tone interiors are very sexy. the only thing im worried about is taking out the top part of the dash. it sounds like a bitch to take out

I made these just now. I did one of the doors too but accidently closed it without saving. I'll do that when i return from work.

I redid my first one to include a tan shift boot (mine needs to be replaced anyway) and the second is the center section of the seats.

Im only interested in the seats and door inserts. To me, the dash looks good with the blakc/tan contrast. In your car though, I can see how black would look better.

i've heard the dash is a bitch but i wouldn't do it anyways... the panels and seats would be cool though (not two tone seats just one color)

yea, and this is what it says (shortened version):

1- disconnect battery
2- remove center console
3- remove glove compartment
4- remove lower left and right dash trim
5- remove driver and passenger airbags
6- remove steering wheel
7- remove driver side knee bolster
8- remove instrument cluster
9- remove headlight switch, turn signal and windshield wiper switches
10-remove AC control head and module
11-remove radio
12-remove a pillar, left and right
13-remove reinforcentemt bar below steering columb
14-remove glove compartment support frame
15-pry out defroster outlets at base of windshield
16-remove mounting bolts from dashboard
17-life instrument panel off slowly, making sure all harness connectors and wiring are disconnected

theres not a snowball's chance in hell that im willing to do that much work just to remove the damn dash, i would rather take out the windshield and pull it through there than do all of that work. spraying it in the car might be the only .DAMN! :banghead

The dash is just too much work to remove. Masking off the area and using the spray for most and using the sponge for smaller areas would really be the best thing to do. That way you can get complete coverage but not have to worry as much about overspray or not filling in cracks.

And does anyone have any feedback on the 2-tone seats? I can't decide if would look good like that, or with the black on the outside and tan inside.

ive decided it would look a little strange to have the two tone because there is still tan carpet, tan ceiling, tan a pillars, tan speakers etc. i would buy black mats for the floor so that wouldnt be that much of a problem but in the back i dont know what else i should dye besides the armrest pieces and side panels

No, only things such as non-OEM style colors. Then it doesn't necessarily drop the resale value to all potential buyers but you are a lot less likely to sell it quick unless you drop the price. Something like black and tan would have a wider range of potential buyers.

would doing this hurt the resale value of the car?
depends on the buyer ... how does the color hold up after time? does it wear really bad and crack or peel? would it make the leather hard?
