Scored Heads?

Any advice?

My first BMW (certified Pre Owned 99 328i) just ran out of warranty 2 months ago and the engine fails.
I have 75K miles on it.
Techs at the repair center say the head is scored? How does this hapen? I have never had it overheat, took it back for oil changes when I was supposed to, and never ran it rough. My wife drove it 99% of the time to work.
The car ran like several spark plugs weren't firing...very rough, no power had it towed to the shop.
I have had it in the shop six times total in 26 months of ownership.
Any advice?????????? Im thinking this is my last BMW...

i'm sorry to hear that, i would never think something like that would happen to a M52. shouldnt a certified BMW have 6 or 7yr 100k mile warranty tho?
did you find out if one or two spark plugs we're firing? my brother had that problem in his impreza. having the car in the shop 6 times..... doesn't that qualify for a lemon? or a ford?
donutchow...

The tech called me and said they think it's plugs and wires...I said "cool" that's what I thought too
(I usually do my own car work but the BMW was out of my league)
Then they called back and said we put the plugs and wires in it and it didn't run any better??? Their next comment was we think it's pretty serious maybe something in the head...like the camshaft etc...
They have had the car for 6 days and I have heard no info yet.
This is the BMW dealer in my town!

"My 96 Collector Edition Vette has never been in the shop and it was 5K less". hmmmm?
is the car a manual or automatic?

see what the bimmer dealership says....then go from there
Well

I hope these guys are reliable...they're the only dealer in town for BMWs.

The called back and said maybe the catalytic converter system malfunctioned....still waiting...

I'm definitely selling the car as soon as I get it back....I can't keep taking it back for repairs, it's too inconvienient and expensive.
What's the 'Lemon Law' time frame like? Speed, do you have any idea? I think it may be X amount of dollars in a given time period qualifies, but I'm not sure. Did you buy from the dealer or private sale? You may have a case with the dealer if you bought it from them. If they certified it then they should stand by their work and do somethign for you.
The Texas Lemon Law only applies to New vehicles. My car was a Certified Pre Owned.
Some other states may be different.

:thumbsdown
Damn. Oh well, worth a try ....
