Well, so I'm the first in the family to have a BMW. My mom really likes the car and now she
wants one. So I was talking to dad and he mentioned that he was thinking of getting her
a new car for her bday and to start looking(he's looking at the 5-series, E-class, A4/6 and
Volvo) but said that with his luck they'd change the model design right after he got it(in
reference to the 2005 change of the A6) - well, I get home and lo and behold the new 5-series
is coming out in October so I told dad, showed him the pictures and he's waiting on the car
now. That means that mom doesn't get a new car for her bday!!!! DOH!! She didn't know so
I guess it doesn't hurt her at all.

Thought I'd share a BMW story for yall. My car changed our family - possibly.

similar story....

my dad hadn't owned a nice car in years. When I was younger he owned a few porsche's and bmw's. Couple years ago I bought a 540, shortly after my brother also bought one, shortly after that my dad bought my mom an A6. All because they realized how nice my car was and my dad fell back in love with german cars.

now he is thinking of getting himself a new A8 or 745.

i heard the E65's were getting a mid-production redesign like the 3ers, so maybe that will hopefully tip the scales in bmw's direction B)

actually he just ordered a new dodge ram, guess he still needs/wants a truck.

No coupe and No vert - it's the family car. They currently have a Lexus GS300 which is a very nice car but it's 10 years old now. 90k on it after 10 years... amazing..

no really he did though, well I guess you can't say he loves them but he sures enjoys driving the audi and always thanks me for it. He just needs a truck so that is what he is getting.

my parents are starting to turn towards benz - we have 3 high end volvos (S80, V70XC, etc.) and I convinced them to go german. The style of the BMW's turned them (and me) off. The new 5 (2005) and 7's are/will be ugly in imho, although they drive VERY well. They are not performance fanatica anyway so benz is more their style. Of course, a used 2002 M5 would be nice.....hmmmmm.....

sprry bout my spamming but....

i recently sat in an A6. It seemed cramped and the leather felt fake to me, maybe it was letherette. Nice car though. My parents ahve a Volvo S80 T6, it is one of the best values. Very safe and confortable. But some h8 the styling. The new e-class is nice but overpriced. I would go for a 2000 or 2001 S class instead, should be cheaper and more confortable. Besides, everyone loves the S class, right?
