hey i need your guys help. yea i was thinking about getting a radar detector. but don't know which one to get. yea there been a lot of damn cops hanging around lately busting people. yea i heard bout the valentine one and the passport? which one would you recommend? i know the valentine one is more pricey but yea anyone know about the features of the passport and v1?

The V1 has saved my ass from way too many speeding tickets. The passport is a piece of garbage because it doesn't even tell you where the radar signal is coming from. Spend the extra money and buy a v1. They have a 30 day guarantee if you don't like it return it. But i guarantee you'll like it. :rock :rock :rock :rock

thanks for the responses. yea i am thinking that the v1 is better because it has the arrows telling you where the damn cop is but yea i heard that there is alot of false alarms. yea haha i was checkin the passport out because it seems to be cheaper. but yea seems like most of ya gots v1. by the way any of yall know where i can get a good deal on one? thanks alot people :thumbs

i never understood radar detectors, i never used on in person, but i see pics of l337's V1 and it just has like 3 little dots that light up. how does that tell you anything about where a cop is/?

it helps is all that matters, if you drive over the speed limit and you don't want to get any tickets then you would be very wise to invest into a radar detector.

Ordinary Detectors have a single antenna facing forward: to cover beside and behind your car, they hope radar will take a lucky bounce into the front opening.

It's not the ONLY radar system that has front and back coverage. My old man has one that has a second antena you plug into it and place in the rear window for rear coverage. That and radars aren't so precise where they could essentially hit a small area. It's a wide band. I had an old cobra (or some such shizz) that went off when I had cops behind me and it was mounted in the front (some fuckers broke into my car and stole it along with other stuff). Laser, on the hand, is much more precise.

thank yall for all the info. haha that jedi thing was funny. watch they pull you over and instead of beating ya down with a night stick they beat ya down with a light saber haha. but yea i also found out about another radar detector made by bel? it claims to have 360 coverage? do any of yall know if this is true or not? thanks :help

yea it might have 360 degree coverage...

What all these radar detectors have in common is they just freakin beep. With the v1 you know where the threat is coming from and how many unlike other detectors.
