Hi everyone,

i need some advice here,
i have a 03 BMW 325i, their regular tires are 205 55 16 , and i have a guy selling me a 5-Series wheels with tires 225 50 17 ( really nice wheels ).
He said to me they will fit, however at tirerack.com when it shows the size for an 03 3series tires with rim 17 it says 225 45 17

So, do you think the 225 50 17 fits my 03 325i ?

Please let me know asap.

Thanks to all

It might be a tight fit. Also, what 5-series are the wheels coming from. If it's an E39 I know the wheels won't fit because the wheel hub size differs from the E46 and E39. You will need to buy hubcentric rings in order to make them fit. Either way, the profile of those tires on 17 sounds like you may have a problem fitting it in the wheel well of the E46. 225/45 is probably a safer size.

You're set with the hub size then. The E60 is 72.6 mm and the E46 is the same at 72.6mm. The only thing I'm not so sure about is the offset between the E46 and the E60. I know they're going to be different but I'm not sure by how much. I'm afraid the difference might be too different. Let's see if someone else chimes in on this.

once again for you anwer.

are you sure the hub sizeon the E60 is 72.6 mm , for some reason at Lug Pattern Reference Guide LugPattern.net , it shows like it is 74.1 mm. What do you think ??

Im still undecided wheter to get those tires.....what a problem.....
I know for a fact the hub bore on the E60 is 72.6. The E39 is the only BMW that had a 74.1mm hub bore. BMW went back to the smaller hub after the E39. Even so, I'm still not sure the E60 wheels will properly fit your E46 and I'm 95% sure those tires are going to be too big to fit inside of the wheel well.

Personally, I'm not a huge fan of BMW factory wheels or any factory wheel for that matter. I think if you want to change the wheels on your E46 you should look at some after market wheels that are properly dimensioned to fit your E46. It might be a little more expensive but I think you'll be happier in the long run. Just my two cents.
