This is my 6.4 Clarion screen that I am going to fiberglass in my car...Anyway, I am gonna mold it in the piece where the OBC and Pocket go. I am still trying to decide where to relocate the OBC to..I think it will be neat to have it in the car still.. When done you will not be able to see any of the plastic on the screen only the screen part itself..Gonna fiberglass it in and repaint the console piece black..Also gonna get a new shift boot while it is out. I will post pics asap..Also gonna station the good ol NINTENDO(yes the original) in the glove box and have a game plate(piece of plastic mounted somewhere that has a wall outlet plug and audio video plugs, easy in and out of car)so i can take my ps2 in and out of the car...

Sweeet, that'll look nice. Are you doing the fiberglass work yourself?
Looks like an awesome project.. makes me jealous - i was going to do something like that in my e34, because i have this HUGE empty area behind my shifter, but i never got around to it :-/

you may have to find a way to tilt it so you can see anything, at that angle youll be uncomforatlble viewing any type of movie

we have looked at a few more options and I think we will be able to keep the obc and tilt the screen and just do away with the panel down bottom with the cig lighter, heated seats etc, the heated seats dont work anyway, and it wouldnt be hard to relocate them at all, it would be alot harder to relocate the obc...

NNOOOOOOOOOOOOOO dont do it!!!!!
i was doing the same thing...!

that is acutally air vent behind there, n the tv will acuatlly block it!!!
i have a MYron n Davis 6 inch tv put in there...!!!

dont do it
that n u have to have the wires on the OBC extendedn n i had it put in the glove box

also the other problem is
that the tv u need to adjust by moving it to get the best picture...
problem with having it put in there, is that its stuck in one position, n it dont look good either!

it def looks hot, but it ends up not workin... email me for more info or pics!

If I was getting a TV installed, what I would do is remove the passenger airbag and mount it on a swivel platform controlled by actuators that raise and lower it out of the dash. That would be hot.

Well, as of right now, I don't think I am going to do any of that, I sold the screen and decided to put it all back together because I am selling my e36 in favor of an e46 coupe(probably 328)...I have started my "19's fund" for my next car and have almost 600 so far...I need about 1200-1350 to get the HP Evo's staggered fitment with tires. So I will keep all updated, so far a few people have looked at my car but nothing solid yet...

I've done a couple of screens in that location at the shop I work at. You're right there are depth restriction; however, you can fit a screen there. Just cant do like the alpine or pioneer radio/dvd/screen combo. Looks good when it's in. :D

I've done a screen that comes with an outside trim ring. It allows the screen to be tilted. Not perfectly flushed, but still looks good.
