the paint on my BMW feel rough when you pass your hand on it....you can see little white specks on it....i think some over spray from somwhere got to it. i used the 3M rubbing compound to see if it would come off..and it made the paint glossier and better looking but you can still see swirl marks and other things and still feel the over spray...how do i fix the paint...can i do it myself?? would wet sanding it do the trick? or di i have to bring it to a body shop?

well the best way would be to take it to the stop, another way, #1 to remove the rough feeling is to clay bar it ($14?)....swirl marks however are another story. Try Scratch-X (3M?) but the best way to remove those things are with a cyclo buffer or take it to a pro....

Claybar.. Claybar.. Claybar. That removes a lot of stuff.

They tell you a ton about the product. It's by far one of the easier steps
and very essential.

After that you can use a polish or abrasive polish to work on filling or
removing the swirl marks and mild scratches. Then follow with a wax
or a sealant. I recommend a synthetic as it just amazed me at how
different it looked between that and zymol.

I use:

But would recommend these products also:
