Hi, my expansion bottle ruptured about two weeks ago. I have had this replaced. This week the car overheated again and when I checked the engine, the electric radiator fan was not working. The dealership has checked the car and says the fan runs between 20% and 50% capacity. It will not work in stop start traffic or when I have the car under huge load. Has anyone managed to repair one of these control boxes? It must be the control box as the fan does work at some speeds. Is there anywhere to get hold of a cheaper aftermarket fan in South Africa? I see they are available in the USA?

Hi, I removed the fan which is a very quick job and could find no obvious faults. After a short trip the fan was working slowly.

Does anyone know how to test one of these fans? What signal does the ECU give it, is it 0-10 volts, 0-12 volts or some type of pulse signal?
