Hi all... lots of bimmer sites.. just had the 84 325e detailed - amazing work, car looks new. will add pictures later. Problem: there are dead spots on the horn button. Horn is a circle at the center of the steering wheel. Disappointed that I couldn't find what I wanted in the Bently book and don't want to break anything. Can I just pry the center piece up to replace the horn ring???? It may just need to be cleaned!!

If you have an original wheel, you normally press around the edge of the centre piece and not the centre spot itself, designed so your hands dont leave the wheel.....

I have Pm'd you, but mine only works on the lower sides when pressed, so you can keep your hands on the wheel and operate it with your thumbs.....
