Hey all, very nice board. I am new to the BMW scene, I currently own an Acura Integra...However, a guy I know has a 1993 BMW 325i sedan...Well we started talking and might be trading straight up...The only problem is I need to have this thing checked out and plan to but have a few questions. OK, was there ever a "AC Schnitzer" edition for the 325i? This one has an emblem on the front grill, and on the dash on the woodgrain it is embossed in it...Another thing, this car is a 93 and has 158k miles, not bad for a 93, but is there any major things that need to be looked at? He told me that something about the car not having a catalyctic converter causes the cars temp to be higher than it should be. Is this true? Could the fact that the idle goes up and down have anything to do with this? Thanks for any help, and I hope to soon be a BMW owner!

depending on the condition of your car you may be getting ripped...and ac schnitzer is an aftermarket tuning company...and yes no catalytic converter makes the car run a little bit hotter...major thing i would think of checking would be the waterpump other than that it should be a good car...but i recommend you try to find a 5spd if this car is an auto.

My car has a few mods to it, but I looked it up a while back and mine is worth no more than 5k at the most from what I can remember, I need to refresh my memory, I live in Alabama so smog laws are foreign here lol, so i would need to put at least a high flow cat on the carto get the temp where it needs to be? The car is a 5 speed and is a 6 cylinder. I have 4500 in the Acura( i came acorss a killer deal about a year ago), and he wants like 6500 for the BMW but owes somewhere around 4200, we came to the agreement that if something did come to a deal that we would swap even..I really want this car, but tomorrow I am gonna take it to my mechanic who I always deal with, he owns a place called Automotive International thats highly reputable and does alot of business with the stereo shop I work at...So I guess wish me luck and the first thing I will do it take those ugly chrome niche wheels off and get either some 18 inch or 19 inch rims!!
