i think those are gonna be too big. i think for the front you should go 235/40 and 245/40 for the rear. hopefully one of the E36 guys can help out to clarify if you can go bigger than that. (this is just what i was able to get off tirerack.com)

are 18x8 rims too big for my 318i??? could i go 235/40's or 225/40's? I'm planning on purchasing these 2 pc. rims, and they are hella tight with a fat polished lip. Please let me know before i buy them.

thanks.

but those tires have two different circumferences... I'm not an expert, but I would think you'd want to keep it the same.

I've got '96 17" M3 multi-spokes on my 1995 325is, with 225/45 up front and 245/40 in the rear. Those are the stock sizes. I have to take my car back in because the front right tire is rubbing a little. It's probably the increased camber of my Dinan stage III suspension, though. I think other people don't have any rubbing. That's with the 225 up front. My first reaction would be that 245 will be too wide although I think I've heard of it being done without rolling or anything. As for the rear, I don't know what rolling on 245/45 is going to do, since it's a different circumference. Your speedo and odometer will be off, I imagine.

good purchase, though. I love the contours. nice B)

If they are non staggered (95')(17x7.5 front and back) run a 235/40ZR17

If they are the stagered. (96+)(17x7.5 and 17x8.5) run a 225/45ZR 17 front and a 245/40ZR17 rear .
