According to leaked BMW Canada documents, the German automaker is planning a new 335is model to slot in part way above the 335i and below the M3. To do this the 335is will get a similar setup to the one recently unveiled in the Z4 sDrive35is, but with 322-hp and 332 ft-lbs of torque. Like the Z4 model, it will also feature an overboost function, to deliver up to 369 ft-lbs of torque. That's 69 ft-lbs more than the M3! A sport exhaust system, more efficient fan and an extra water cooler will help keep the engine performing at max power.

What will really help owners get the most of all this added power is an available 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.

BMW will offer the 335is as both a coupe and a convertible with sales expected some time in 2010 for both the U.S. and Canada. Both models should be offered in Europe and other international markets as well.
