i was driving around in my mom's jaguar s-type after dropping her off at the mall. a 525i pulled up next to me at the stoplight and we both glanced at each other. both of us were heading the freeway and decided to have some fun. i knew that jaguars are not very well known driving against the bmws but heck, i wanted to push it to the limit. once we got on the freeway, of course the 525 pulled ahead of me about 1 car length and then 2 car length. shortly after, i managed to close the gap and then i pulled ahead of him. i've kept ahead of him almost 3 car length before coming up to my off ramp. i slowed down and gave him a thumbs up and he returned the favor. man, i couldn't believe that i have managed to get ahead of him in a jaguar.

why not?? most jags are 12 cylinders... thats all high end torque. then again you could have the 10 or the 8 but still thats a lot of cylinders.

it's actually an 8, but i have always heard that jaguars could not keep up with the bmws. another thing, the jag may have 8 cylinders but it felt heavy while driving and also does not start off as fast as it should. my 325 starts off quicker but am not sure if it will stay ahead.

speed - the handling of the jag was better than i expected. however, i've yet to drive a cadillac so i can't compare with them. the only complaints i have with the jag is the slow start and feels heavy while driving. also the steering is very loose, there doesn't seem to have any pressure on the steering. but the jag corners really well. maybe not as well as the bimmers, but well enough. i have yet to try riding in the back seat. i have heard that back seat riding really sucks.

kmracing - i flew into sacramento and the area i drove on was on the outskirts of sacramento. there were a lot of hills and curves. this freeway was not straight or flat. i was driving my mom's jaguar. i didn't have my 325 coupe with me. i do know the numbers for my 325 and even with the auto, i still feel like i take off quicker than my mom's jag with v8. it is possible with the weight difference as i noticed that the jag felt heavy while driving it.
