My 1991 e34 has a shake at about 40mph. I just had the tires rotated and balanced and the shake persist. Could it be my tie rods or what do you guys think?

yeah it does actually. This morning on the way into work it was droping below idle at red lights. The check engine light would pop up for less than a second and go off, then the car would idle back up. any idea on that as well?
