:help !!! Three impending bills sitting on IL Gov. Blagojevich's desk. The first two need your voice of SUPPORT. The 3rd needs your voice of DISCONTENT !!!
First, contact Gov. Blagojevich's office:
Office of the Governor, 207 State House, Springfield, IL 62706
-OR (quickest)-
Call his office:
(217) 782-0244
-OR (probably least effective, but still valid)-
email him:
[email protected]
The top three bills important to smart motorists in Illinois:
:driving 1) SUPPORT: HB 1186 "65 mph" bill that would FINALLY raise the speed limit in non-urban areas in IL to 65 mph. In conjunction with HB1574 Left Lane bill, these two things would go A LONG way to start easing congestion in IL.
See: http://www.legis.state.il.us/legislation/B...ID=3&LegID=1743
:driving 2) SUPPORT: HB 1574 "Left Lane" bill that would allow police to enforce left lane usage regulations (i.e., slower traffic keep right bill). We'll never be a Germany, but it's a start to more sane traffic flow in this godforsaken state!
See: http://www.legis.state.il.us/legislation/B...356&SessionID=3
:banghead 3) OPPOSE: SB 1848 - Toll Bill - lots of crap in it that gives more power to the IL Toll Highway Authority but the most dangerous part is the new ability for the state to collect/seize/immobilize/impound any vehicle in connection with owed tolls in connection with any other city/local/county gov't.
See: http://www.legis.state.il.us/legislation/B...961&SessionID=3
If you want to do more, then also contact the sponsors of these bills and voice your thanks or displeasure. There's little room to enjoy our Bimmers if stuck in parking-lot traffic due to irrational traffic laws and policies.
