Well I thought it was about time I joined hehe, have been around this site and forums for aaaaages :)

I will post some pics soon. . .

I have an '89 525i se auto that I have owned for some years now, Those of you that have old Performance BMW Magaizes will be able to find my 4 page spread in the Dec 2004 edition :)

I am having a few problems with it of late (posted in another thread) but I am hoping to be put on the right track

Have any of you noticed that when you have sent your car in to a garage for any reason that it never quite comes back the same as when it went in ? do you notice a new little dent somewhere, or a scratch or scuff ? or am I just unlucky ?

I had a windscreen replaced, and with our bonnets opening the 'other' way they put in a bar incase of a weak bonnet stay but when they forget about the bar and go to shut the bonnet you get 2 little dents in the bonnet from the inside :-(
after a service I have had the car back with scuffs and scratches on the wings around the engine bay where mechanics have obviously had tools in their pockets, Ive had the paint scraped off the calipers when having brake pads replaced, Ive had a tyre fitter jacking the car up by the bodykit cracking it all
I had a set of the new 7 series alloys which are big solid things, but a pothole in the city centre destroyed a front one, cracked it completely, wrote off the tyre, cracked the suspension balljoints and bent a control arm, but the council did not pay out

Sometimes it is a pain to appreciate your own car sometimes

Welcome along to the Werkz....as for the damage by the garages, you should always check everything on your car proir to leaving, they are responsible and have to correct the damage....

Welcome to the Werkz. It always great to find a mechanic that you can trust. The trouble is finding them in the first place, it can be an expensive and painful process.

:) Thanks for the welcomes, yeah I will scout round for someone good :) I am planning to take care of the cosmetic damages later in the year, I will investigate how to post pictures and post a couple :)

Am glad I found this place, I was a long member of the e30zone site n forums, have still got the e30 but will be getting rid of that one later in the year, if I can be of any help to others if I have had or fixed problems they are experiencing, I will do :)

Have fun guys

Nice looking pictures/car. Question though - why is there an ///M badge on the trunk?? This is an E34 525i, not an ///M5 yes?

The previous owner put the badge on, and it is a badge with the pins through the boot not stuck on so I left it rather than having 2 holes in the trunk, and yeah amz from the uk

I see. Holes in the trunk FTL but badging a non-///M car...ehhhh not terrific either. Nice ride - doesn't need a badge to be hawt. There have been whole threads on this issue. I'd fix the trunk...:dunno
