so my 92 325i in 5th gear doing 55 my rpms are at 3200...now that seems pretty high or is that how the car is suppose to be, done to it is chip, m3 exhaust, and intake...also i noticed when it idles, it idles around 500-600 rpms and it feels like its cammed but when i go to go it doesnt stutter or bog or anything its smooth, whats could cause the high rpms and the 500-600 idle

aslo a guy from bimmer forums said "Wrong diff ... sounds like you might have a 3.91 (from an automatic car) instead of the 3.15 it's supposed to have ..."

whatdo you guys think?

Wow, what happened to all the nice people? I would look into a different differential. Maybe the stock one got swapped out for a limited slip. Lucky you have half shafts and don't have to get a whole rear end.

@White325i, I dont think you have any problems according to what I have been reading on chips thats how they run high rpms like its cammed but idles smooth... Now thats not in stone only what I've read on chips... I will be installing a chip in an M42 engine along with chainge the cat back exhaust to an M3 exhaust just an experiment to see if theres any power gains
