Recaros

Last night I collected all the parts necessary from Radio Shack to complete this, only to realize I have no idea how to put it together...The website only gives a schematic, which I'm sure most people understand, except me. So I'm basically wondering if someone can provide me with a little more information or a link on what wires/resistors/diodes to connect, twist, solder, cut, etc...

Any help is much appreciated!

Thanks,

Kyle

Anything marked in red in the picture below needs to be twisted together at those ends and soldered together. In order to get a good solder joint, hold the soldering tip against the wires/wires you are wanting to join and let it sit for about 8 seconds. Then, push the solder against a place where the wires meet, near, but not exactly where the soldering iron tip is making contact with the leads. If the solder does not melt easily, then give it a little more time to heat up. Repeat for each connection.

The direction of the resistors does not matter, but be sure to connect the diode with the silver band pointing toward teh resistor that is connected to teh blue wire.

THANK YOU! seriously, this is so much clearer than anything i've read before on the subject. I gave up trying to figure it out, and just connected the diode, without the board, and without the resistors, but will pull it off and do it the 'right' way...thanks again.

You're very welcome. Please take some time to review and figure out how teh schematic represents the same thing I provided in the picture. The person in the other site tried hard -- even color-coded the schematic--, and not always will you be able to find some benevolent soul somewhere on the internet willing to do this kind of thing for you.

Good luck!

And welcome to werkz :)

I have a 2006 BMW 330I with the occupancy seat sensor malfunction. Dealer will not honor the recall stating my VIN is not included in the recall. Only option is replace the seat sensor or fix. I checked post on-line on bypassing the seat sensor as indicated in the above posts. however, my seat has three wires going into the seat not two as indicated in the picture. Any idea how to configure a bypass with three wires and how to reset the fault? thanks
