I just got a 1990 525i, my first car ever. Nothing has been done to it and it is looking rather puny right now. I need some tips on the best mods to put on it for the cheapest price. Got any ideas???

first off, welcome to the forums B)

as for your mods, what kind of price range are you looking at? maybe if we knew how much you're willing to spend, we can help you out and list some for you.

also, are you looking for appearance mods or performance mods?
welcome! B)

u should get white turn signals for looks. maybe a M5 front spoiler aswell, then some wheels of ur choice and lowering springs for a more aggresive look. (not too low, maybe like a 1.5in drop)

here's my fav. E34, (gamites car) :p ...

welcome to the BMW world, E34 is an awesome car and they look great...enjoy.

Try nikis-place for any mods you want to do.
The greatest effect on appearance is in wheels. If you are really on a tight budget, Ebay might have some decent used wheels with tires. Go for at least 17inch wheels.
Yea i gotta agree with mista m3 on this. A e34 looks killer with some clear corners and some eyelids. Except in black... dont see the eyelids then.
Thanks everybody, i will definately look into some wheels to start off with. performance wise, i am talking to a buddy of mine about building a custom cold air intake for under $100, to get a little better sound and power out of her.

lucky bastard.

ugh.......i would get some clears as previously suggested. Also, perhaps some new rims. That is what i would do first. Depending on your location you might want to invest in separate winter/summer wheel/tire combos.

Some of my friends tell me that those super-halogen bulbs actually make a difference, perhaps you might want to invest in those. Have fun w/your BMW :)
i dont think you need to make a custom intake...if your car has the m50 motor and i think it does then just find an intake made for an e36 and it will fit on your car since your 2.5 should be the same
1990 525i. So your car has M20 engine, and honestly, custom intake is not really make any noticeable different. Trust me! my friend has the same car and it just loosing power on hot weather. If I were you I save some money and get performance exhaust (supersprint, remus, etc) and performance chip (TMS, EAT, etc), then you can feel the different on power.

Have fun with the car and happy hunting!

Cheers
