I thought I made an introductory thread already? Anyways here goes.
My name is Josh. I'm 28 and I recently got 2 E21. Both alpine white and both non-running. Been 100% Chevy/GM until a friend of mine introduced me to the land of the rising sun product - Toyota. Been 150% hardcore Toyota since 1997. Built an 80 4dr as an 'anorexic supra' and loved every second of it. One night, after a fresh rain, I was on an unfamiliar road and going over a small crest to a 10-20mph left while going 40mph. Needless to say, that car is long gone, but I still have the drivetrain, but onto the BMW!
#1 Is a craigslist car. It has a rod hanging and a piston through through the head, so it's a write-off, but I was in search for a shell anyways.
#2 is from a friend of a friend. Suddenly it ran bad, then overheated, then stopped running all together. New starter, harness, manual switched power to fuel pump and its alive, but with a shudder at cruising speed in all gears.
Plans-Transfer all running gear from #2 to #1 since #1 has cracks in the b-pillar and that shows an abused life, so it'll become my all stock DD.
#2 gets my 1jzgte, MA70 rear axle assembly and a cage with loads of little bits, but for now its a DD since I sold my ae86 gts coupe, which wasn't very wise since I don't have another reliable car to get me around.
Relax, I won't show the Toyota '325 turbo' here if it upsets anybody. Or if everybody wants to see progress as its made, let me know and I'll start a thread.
Onto the pictures!
This is #1 before I took the face off to see about intercooler fitment. I don't have a lot of pictures of either one, just general exterior shots for now.
Here is #2. Its a whole lot nicer in and out, but has it's own fair share of issues I'll be addressing here if/when I get stuck on something. Get ready mechanical fuel injection gurus!! I have some questions! *btw this isn't an up to date pic, it just shows both before #2 came to life.*
EDIT!!! That wing is just sitting on #1 for laughs!!!!! Its NOT SERIOUS! omg how embarrassing!
