I have a problem with my heater. The heater is working because I can feel the heat when I turn on the defrost but it is not blowing very hard.

I know it is not my digital control unit because I have tried an old unit and it has the same problem.

I looked at my bentley and think it is the blower motor or the blower resistor. The bentlely also gives a blower motor test values but how do I test the blower motor do I need to disconnect motor or do I check it while it is connected.

Does anyone have any ideas on troubleshooting this problem any input would be greatly appreciated.

I have a 1996 328i convertible.

If it's the resistor, the full on setting may be the only one that works. Otherwise, there may be a motor issue.
