Has any one tried to put halo's into their head lights? I was planning to head up my head lights in the oven until the silicone melts, then pull apart the housing. Then once i got that, i will fabricate a halo ring. Has any one done this? If any one has, please let me know, i want to know is there anything you might run into. And some picture would be nice. Thanks

I have deffinitely seen it done before. I will try and find where I saw it and post a link or something. I honestly didnt think it looked as good as the e36 or e46. but at night it looked fine. Good luck and kudos on finding an inexpensive way to set your car appart.

haha, thanks. Here's a link to one of the sites i found it at: http://www.bimmertoys.com/xcart/customer/p...&cat=310&page=1 .
I just got this 16 year old car several days ago. It's just my first step. I kinda don't wanna waste my money on a car that old, so i'm just gonna add little things to satisfy my anxious hands. I took my precious time cleaning those basket rims, it took me a total of one hour to make that baby spotless.

you'll have better luck searching for info if you search for "Angel Eyes"... since that's what they're typically referred to as

here's how i plan to do it. What do you guys think? I have 3 extra low beams so i'll try it out. If it turns out nice, i'll buy some higher voltage low beams and do it on that. here's the link http://www.geocities.com/crx_auto/angel_eyes.htm

wait explain that again. I don't understand how your doing it? Is it hard to take off apart the head lights. I got the Sylvania h5006 bulbs. Can i just pop it in the oven for 15 minutes and peel it apart, or is it harder than that?

This guy did a very nice job. http://e30.bmwdiy.info/red-tails/index.html . Damn i gota go to radio shack to get a battery for my Key light. I'm replacing the regular bulb with a blue led. Thank god winter break is coming up. I have lots to do.

what kinda headlights do you have? if they're the stock sealed beams, there's no way you can open them.... seriously... it's impossible unless you break em open

i know guys who have done it... most have taken them right back off... it's seriously not as easy as it sounds & not worth wasting your money unless you find a good kit for cheap... and a guy on r3v makes one that he's done alot of R&D on... his name's nick, ie inspar8er... from what i've heard, at this point its the most developed kit for e30s and alot better quality than something that you could make on your own w/o doing it 50 times before - http://www.mmsport.s5.com/e30.html

well popping the stock head lights or OER head lights were easy. I have the slvania h5006. I just stuck them in the oven for about 10 minutes i took them out and use a flat head, man that thing just popped right off. Since i have a Sh*t load of blue led's (close to 60 leds) i'll just do it the cheap china man way. I should be done if i can get the rod tomorrow. I got a picture of the opened head light.

I just finished making one of my halo's It looks great. i f*cked up on one of them, and i have to go back to home depot and buy another set of those rods. I just have to seal up my head light and do the other one, and i'll be done. Here's a taste of what i've done so far. I will have it done by tomorrow, since i have the whole day to work on it. What do you think so far?
