Just a simple question, I have the fuel filter but cannot locate where it is on the car. I think it might be inside the driver's side wheel well behind all of the plastic. I would like to know where the filter is located at so I can put in the new one. It is a five speed manual I don't know if that make a difference.

Thanks

Plus I realize this should be posted in the Tech section. I think I will post it there. I have looked everywhere for that sucker. When I did a brake job on it I even look all around the tank and stuff like that back there. Only thing I can think is with all those gas lines going into that fender well it has to be back there...

On Newer Model bimmers such as my e46 and on E38's (as shown in the picture)...

They're usually underneath the driver's side on the underbody of the car... Of course you will have to jack your car up and remove the plastic panel but it should be somewhere between the wheelwell and driver's seat (on the underbody of course).
