hey everyone i have a 98 323is
not alot of money what can i do for noise not so much performance

Golf tee mod for the exhaust and airbox debaffle for the intake.

Total cost is ... 10 cents and it will take you half an hour to do both. Should keep you "noise happy" for a while.

edit: Or if you want slightly more expensive, but still on a budget, M3 exhaust.

Yes, just follow the instructions in the links I posted. All it involves is plugging up a hose with a golf tee as far as the exhaust, and for the debaffle you have to undo 2 10mm nuts (or whatever it is) and unclip a piece of plastic, then put the airbox back in.

hey i went to go do the "golf tee mod"
and i mine was already open lol

Is it open with the car shut off or is it still open when it's running at idle as well?

I'm not sure but I think it might open when the car is shut down. Maybe ... never had a m52 powered car.

alright i did it but with some different thing i cut the line in between because at the end was glued so i plug both ends and the flap stayed open so thanks
