I have 2000 323ci convertible and has only 99K miles. Sometimes "Engine service soon" light come up on and sometimes it goes off.

Also, after couple days later when I start to run the car, everything seems fine , no any weird lights are on (include Engine service soon light)...I drive couple miles then stop the car and restart the car, sometimes it is not working on the first attempt and engine service soon light back to On, or if it starts, when I push the gas pedal then leave it, the car goes to Off by itself. Sometimes when I stop on the traffic light, the car goes off....

I have no idea what is the problem?

It can be as simple as a gas cap not quite tight enough...

I did very tight every time before or after get in the car...
No luck, still same problem?

There are many things it can be. I just read the codes on a Jetta and in that case it's simply that the computer recommends that the coolant temp sensor be tested. Many auto parts stores will read the computer codes for free.
