hey!
I know you guys aren't diesel drivers, but I'm asking anyway.
e46 320d 2002 saloon. when accelerating brutally in the second and third gears black smoke comes out. a lot. some will say that is normal for a diesel to smoke, but it is a lot of smoke. no error lights up, no problems on tester while running. cleaned the egr and found some improvement. little.
also in the second and third gears I get a rattling sound when underload and accelerating up through 2000rpm. changed the exhaust starting from the second cat and the muffler. no change.
and third. although the computer says 58 mpg on highway, when I do the maths using the fuel level sensor, it comes out that the consumption is around 40 mpg.
I'm thinking that the first and third problems are connected. not sure about the second one.
I would like to hear some opinions. thanks!
