I don't think that 240sx is that bad ('91-'94) I think it would win performance-wise with 318is(E30/m42) but, that's what I THINK, 240sx has 155 w/160fst/lb ??

Yeah, when the KA engine is DOHC, it has 155 hp/160 ft lbs of torque.

It's a truck engine, though, and in Japan, the 240sx is incredibly more bad-ass.

I love my old 240. That's why I gave it to my bro when I bought the BMW so he wouldn't have to be stuck with his pink, Ford Probe.

And, yeah, Impalas are incredible cars. I just wish the 94-96 builds came with manuals. Main reason why I got a 5-series over an Impala.

Affordable IS in the title, folks.

As for the mid-90s Impala, that thing was an overrated pig. Not fast in a straight line, not fast in the corners, but it DOES look good with big wheels.

The mid-90's Impala defined the word "sleeper."

Sure, it was sluggish stock, but it really doesn't take that much to open up the LT1.

You can say that about several cars, but the 94-96 Impala SS is arugably the greatest SS car designed.

Some say so, at least.

Most of the cars on my list were the ones I was considering before buying my 525i e34.

-AE86 Corolla Hachirouku (drifting is lways fun)
-S14 (SR20DET swap is a must)
-Integra GSR (perfect tunrer car)
-93+ 300ZX (still my favorite car)
-MKIV GTI (fairly cheap to make it fast). My friend invested 4K into his, and runs low 13s at 1/4 mile
-Audi S4
-Audi A3

1. R34 Nissan Skyline GT-R (Hell, might aswell throw V-Spec in there)
2. Audi RS2 (does 0-30 quicker than a Mclaren F1)
3. 1960's Ford Mustang

R34 GTR Skyline.

A very nice sleeper.

Developed in conjunction with Porsche, the Mercedes 500E was based on the popular 300E model which had been released in 1986. Each 500E was transported back and forth between the Mercedes plant and Porsche's Rossle-Bau plant in Zuffenhausen during assembly and hand built, taking a full 18 days to complete each model. It was produced between 1992-94 in which time approximately 7200 cars were built. Besides a totally new engine, the 500E was also equipped with a hydraulic self-leveling suspension, 11.8 inch vented discs in the front and 10.9 inchers in the back, wider wheels and tires and shorter and stiffer springs which lowered the 500E nearly an inch over the 300E. While the resulting slalom time is nothing to boast about (61 mph), the 500E still manages a healthy 0.84g on the skidpad and a sports-car-like 116 ft stopping distance. The engine was the same unit used in the 500SL but with a Bosch LH Jetronic fuel injection replacing the KE Jetronic and a redesigned intake manifold with longer runners that resulted in an additional 22 lb-ft of torque over that powerplant. The four speed automatic transmission and rear axle were also sourced from the 500SL and the 500E was also equipped with standard ASR (traction control). While there was no factory option for an override switch, many aftermarket tuners could provide this, lowering 0-60 mph times into the 5 second ranges. This Mercedes was an excellent Autobahn cruiser and could deliver a ride comfort and effortless power delivery at higher speeds in a manner that even the BMW M5 could not match.

Affordable:

Nissan 350z
Mazda RX-8
Saab 9-5
Early to mid 90s Lexus SC Series

I love trucks too, so I would love a Toyota Tacoma or a 4Runner (pre-2003)
