In my 84 325e the temperature on the computer started showing -22. I disconnected the battery overnight with no luck, still -22. Any ideas

yeah, i wouldn't be suprised if the temp sensor is faulty or got unplugged... it's located down on the bottom of the front valence on the driver's side... it's just a little metal knob. get under the car & find the wire for it, see if it got disconnected, since it unplugs right there for when you wanna remove the lip on the valence

hope that helps

i am not sure if i am right or wrong, but just my 2 cents.

if the wire came unplugged, would the temperature even show up on the computer? i doubt it would, but then again, who knows. my suggestion is that you need to replace the temperature sensor in the area both of the people b4 me mentioned, but if that doesnt do the trick, i would have to look like this :idea2

-22 F. is the indication when the sendor is damaged, worn out, or disconnected.
yeah... that's what i was gettin at... that's basically the need-to-know information right there... the rest (wiring diagram) is greek to me :wtf heh
