just bought a set of BOGE Coilovers (actually gonna get them tommorow) my car is gonna handle awesome. cant wait to throw them on the car hopefully soon

i'm kinda new to the whole world of suspension.. so...
springs and coil overs, are they the same thing ?
Is it wise to have the car lowered with new springs and keep the original shock absorbers?

Someone take me to school for the world of suspension and handling !
