So when I drive my bimmer, I started hearing the clacking sound from down under the car. It comes only when I break (or gradually slow down after downshifting) - like something metallic clacks against something. Again, it happens only when I considerably slow down, and not when accelerating or coasting. Any ideas? My suspicions are - driveshaft housing and transmission.

By the way - in this icon - :driving - why is that the guy shifts on the left? What is this - England?

Have you looked at your flex disc yet? Yours could be in the early stages of wearing out. It will probably start to knock when you accelerate soon. If you want to check this just look at the connection between your transmission tailshaft and your driveshaft. It is the rubber housing that sits between the two. If there is any fraying or cracking on this it can cause these problems.
