changing out alternator

im going to be changing out the alternator.. what other parts should i replace while in there.. serp belt? tensioner?

i called bmw and they said there are two types of tesioners..

hydo and mechanical.. how do i know which to order that way i can get myself the right parts and fix this car

CSI - I don't have an answer for you but I thought others might be able to help if you specify the year and model of your car.
It's always a good idea to change out the belt - since your messing with it anyway.
But I'm not sure about the tensioner.
