Hello Folks,
First post in here. This weekend I got into my 2004 320i and the check engine light came on. The car was very slow and shaky to accelerate and would shake somewhat when stationary (almost as if the car was about to stall).
I've taken it down to my local garage and they ran a diagnostic. I've been told that the ECU has been burnt out, the coils had expanded to the point that they were about to explode and the spark plugs need replacing.
This all comes as a surprise to me as the car seemed to be running fine before this (although had minor problems with tram-lining and the power stearing had become heavy).
I just want to hear your views. The garage told me it would cost £1400 to sort out.
