hello. i own a 2002 330Xi and am having problems with the fuel system. the check engine light has been on for one month, and when i stopped by the local autozone to plug it into their computer, the codes stated the fuel mixture was not correct (which i knew because the car was jerky). now there is a high pitch when i depress the accelerator. it's faint but i can hear it and it drives me crazy. can i fix this myself? i would love some info. thanks everyone.

ps. i should mention the car has sat for two years until March of 2010 (in case it means anything)

Welcome to the Werkz

It could be a vacuum leak, which will throw out your air fuel mix (lean). See if you can isolate the sound whilst the car is idle and hopefully it should be an easy fix. Good luck

My service engine light came on yesterday, and I took it to autozone. They said car is running lean and it may be an 02 sensor but it wasn't telling them for sure. I did notice a high pitch whistle at certain speeds as well and some jerky acceleration from 60 to 80MPH. I'm curious where this leak may be, anyone have a suggestion on this?
