bad pads maybe. i have the same problem. my pads squeek at low speed stops.
what is probably wrong is that the pads, are made using a certain resisin that if the pads are made improperly (during the process where they heat them up to finalize the molding of the pads) they will squeek. i heard this from a guy who worked for Pagid.
sorry that this explanation is very off center. but im trying to remember what i can.
Isn't there a squeel plate with the BMW brakes? Usually (I haven't changed mine yet, will do so soon enough) there is a piece of thin metal that goes between the pad and the caliper to squelch the squeel.
i haven't encountered any squeal plate when fondling my brakes, but you can get anti-squeal paste which you put on the backside of the pads (the side facing away from the disc of course) which helps dampen squeal.
squeel comes from the different types of brake compounds. Racing breaks squeel, metalic does not but has a shitload of dust, and then normal type... which may or may not squeel, game of chance.
so if they are high performance brakes they will always squeL???? hmmm

lol no, its just the type of brake pad you use, yours breaks should not squeel, listen to a f1 car...do they squeel? no....
well i have zimmerman x drilled rotors and genuine pads and i dont get squeal...usually ive noticed the aft mkt pads squeak a lot more than the genuine pads and that might be your problem
god damnit im replacing the pads or something i hate the squeekyness....
are the pads you have now genuine?
EBC pads squeel at low speeds. that's about all I know.
mine dont squeak at all and i have genuine pads so that might be it

Have you considered Desmo's suggestion? The paste is much cheaper than a new set of pads.
ya try the paste first...ive heard it works
hmmm well it now only squeeks when the pads are warm (i guess)... so ill try the paste? or maybe i can get the brake place to change my pads for free... (its still under waranty)
What paste is best to use? I'm actually working on a 928, but I told my girlfriend (hence the Stephanie) that I'd fix the low-speed squeal on her new pads.

Yo silver...

Your little title shouldn't just say Forum enthusiast...

You're more like the LINK MASTER! you always dig up these information pages on like any subject.

good job.
Ussually high performance pads will squeal at low speed stops when you're not using them very much. Also, almost all pads are made to squeal a lot when they're at the end of their pad life so you want to get them checked.

In your case, try the paste, but it could just be the compound in the brakes and there's nothing you can do about it. It may also go away in time.

bump...mine used to squeal for about a year a lot but i got them from autozone..then i replaced them with originals and they work perfectly no noise.
