Hi guys!!

I have idle problems with my 525i M20 engine.
While checking for vacuum leakage I noticed that the engine sucks air thru a small onep ended hose mounted on the brake booster's check valve (vacuum line).
I am wondering if this is normal since the air is not measured by the AFM.

Thanks!

that line fell off of something ive never seen a booster suck air from a hose of anysort unless it was directly hooked up to a solenoid or valve.. get a drop light and have a look around the area of that hose it most likley fell off its fitting and the air the lack of opening and closing that particular part has cuased your idle to go to crap....

Thanks! I found that the thin vacuum hose that goes inside was disconnected. I reconnected it but this morning I still had a hunting idle when cold for 2 min.

check the area around the hose for leaks. being exposed to the elements may have caused it to stiffin up at the neck and continue leaking.
