This one has me stumped and hope someone can help. My auxillary fan only works when the ac is on. The temperature drift up past high an at time goes higher but the fan doesn't go on, low or high speed.

I jumpered the wires going to the radiator thermo switch and the fan goes on both low and high. So a replaced the switch but still it doesn't come on without the ac.

Today I replaced the thermostat and flushed the system. Now the car runs hotter at 3/4 range (used to run a little above 1/2) and still no fan.

What next? Could the new radiator thermo switch also be bad.

More issues

Besides the auxiliary fan problems and temperature I also have a throttle return problem when the AC is on. When I go to shift, say at 2500 rpms the rpms don't drop down to idle when I take my foot off the gas and put in the clutch. Dont have this problem when the AC is turned off. Beginning to feel these problems are all related. Anyone have any suggestions of what is going on and how to fix.

Thanks
Jim

The idle not dropping back when your AC is engaged is normal, as the ECU senses that AC is on and boosts the RPM to compensate for the compressor load.

As far as tracing out the electrical side of your aux fan issues, download and research through the appropriate electrical troubleshooting manual:

Adios for now,
